Raising money for our school
We are very lucky to have an enthusiastic and dynamic PTA. We are a very small school, but we have big ambitions and a reputation for punching above our weight in terms of the events we put on. Our annual Christmas Fayre is a great example of this; offering pupils, parents and the wider community of St Helens and beyond, a fantastic array of stalls, entertainments and yummy Christmas food! Our PTA Cafe at St Helens Summer Fayre is also an important fundraiser for our school.
We are currently raising money for a Library Bus (we need £10,000!), which will be a fabulous resource – not just for our school, but for the wider community.
Our PTA is not just about raising money, however, it also likes to contribute to the opportunities and fun children have at St Helens Primary School. It has run a Cinema Club and Treasure Hunt for example, and arranges treats for the children at special times of the year, such as Christmas and Easter.
Getting involved in the PTA
Our PTA has a very small committee, headed up by our Chair, Jacqui Sumner.
But it is the opposite of exclusive! All parents, carers and grandparents are welcome to come along to meetings and we are always looking for helpers – the more the merrier!
We do encourage parents to get involved, especially those new to the school it’s a great way to get to know the school and make friends with other parents.
So, don’t be shy, get involved!
