Learning at Home

Supporting your Child

Regular reading is vital, particularly for the younger children in Key Stage 1 and there is a continued expectation that every child will read, or be read to, for at least ten minutes each day.

In addition, there is a weekly maths, literacy or project-based activity. The length and nature of the activity will depend on the age or stage of your child, however, a rough guide would be:

Key Stage 1

Reading for all, plus a topic project. Year 2 will also have spellings.

Key Stage 2

Literacy, numeracy, plus research work for topic.

Each half-term your child’s teacher will update the parents’ letter online outlining the topics the class will be covering during the following weeks.
